Recently I was lucky enough to be given a female hystric ray from a member/buddy (nice one Wing). I saw this pup in Feb 2011 and it was tiny. Several months passed and soon the ray was moved too a pond and my friend could not care for it due to various reasons. the rays was very thin whenalthier i got her. No hip bones showing but no fat or bulk.
Good news now, she must be at least 1 year old now and just over 6.5 inch. She is starting to gain weight and look healthier. They grow really slow, as my smaller P14 was 5 inch about 3 months ago and now is same sixe as Hystrix.
The hystrix is a lovely ray.
