4 inch male hystrix that I got from Jason (spotfin). I wanted a ray so bad I cleaned out my 15 male haps that were in this tank so he wouldn't get picked on.

Good choice...I'd rather have one ray than a thousand African cichlids!! My days of African cichlid keeping are gone forever. lol

Yeah I completely lost my interest in them. Told my girlfriend I was going to sell them but she decided she wanted me to keep them, so she convinced me to set up a spare 55 I had so I'll keep them for now. She hates the ray though hahahah

Gorgeous little guy, congrats.

Give her time... I dont think there is anyone, no matter how sceptical they are, that doesnt fall in love with the rays once you live with them.... I was one of them.. now Im hooked!!
