Just made my first stingray purchase! 2 Hystrix rays!!! I bought 1 mature male about 10 inch disc and 1 mature female about 12 inch disc diameter, and my question is approx how many massivore delight pellets would you guys consider good for them to eat daily? Just want to make sure I am feeding enough, and that they are eating enough .... I know its an approximation, just curious .... and I also feed shrimp and am going to feed scallops as well, but their staple will be massivores and the frozen foods as a treat .... thanks

Tryout and failure :) Drop 10 in, do they want more? They want more, drop 15 in, they want more? Drop 30 in, 10 is left, gues youl go with 20 then ;) Keep it simple.I dont know if you have any fish that eats the leftovers? Let the food lay for 10-20 minutes, whats not eaten by then, they wont eat.

+1. Keep an eye on the tail side of their disk though. When you get a lump similar to the size of the front lump near their eyes, they have and plenty to be healthy. That's how my motoro seems to be kept happy anyway. Enjoy your new rays though ! Any pics to share?

Looks nice, but I wouldn't trust a few of those tank mates. I have had a few issues before with my hystrix and some of them.

Yeah, the goonches are my biggest fear, but everything seems to be fine thus far, if the rays were smaller I'd be a bit more concerned ... all the silvery swimmy fish don't interact at all, and the datnoid likes to rub his nose on the ray occasionally, that's about all I've seen .... I'll keep my fingers crossed though, as keeping a tank of preds is always risky business
