Anyone whose seen my threads around MFK know that I am currently in the stages of setting up a 500 gallon 8' x 4' x 25" tank. It's required me to move a lot of fish around and take down a couple of tanks to open up space. Certain animals were put together simply because I had no other choice until the new tank was ready.
Long story short - my Hystrix ray took a severe beating from my Fly River Turtle. His tail has a chunk of it missing off the end. The stinger is now the furthest point on his tail. He is also peppered with white cuts along the top of his body and has a couple small nips at his disc.
I bumped the temperature and have been adding salt regularly. The turtle has been separated. The ray is still active and eating regularly. It's been a few days and he seems to be acting normal.
Is there anything else I can do? Will those white marks go away as he heals or is he going to have battle scars for the rest of his life?
I feel like an dodo for letting this happen,
, but what's done is done. I hope everything works out for the Hystrix.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Michael
