Hystrix Update

I brought a pair of hystix home on 11/13/2009 for my brother. Unfortunately the female died when she got sucked in the filter of my QT tank. That was a nice lesson learned. Anyways it has been right at a year and the male has went from 3.5" to 7". Here is a pic from when I got them, male is on left, and pics taken a couple of days ago.

Man he is a stud, I didn't know you still had him. He needs a girlfriend though. If you can find
one. Don't seem to be as abundant as last year. His pattern seems to be a little different than
some of the others I have seen.

deff need a girlfriend, there is no one to get these from anymore

we need some captive bred!!!
 
Truly a fine looking specimen......a firm favourite of mine this species.

Not many people have breeding pairs of these and Brazil rarely allows export of them. There was a bunch for sale last winter so you might see them pop up real soon. If you want one you better have cash ready and not wait to think about it.
