Hi Guys.
Here's 3 of my latest acquisitions. These rays came in hideously emmaciated, luckily they have responded well to good hubandry and plenty of helpings of their favourite food....the trusty old earthworm(night crawlers). My main aim was to get some weight on these guys asap, the work now begins....getting them to take other alternatives,i will let you know how i get on.
Regards,
Richard.
Ps The larger darker Hystrix is a pup i bred a couple of years ago, she's the one on the gravel substrate.

Wow, are these the ones I saw when I bought my rays?

How long did it take from start to finish?

I would have bet good money that those were days from death....did you have to treat for parasites or was it just poor conditions from before?

Hi Toby.
No these were litterally fresh out of Brazil 3 weeks ago,as you can see they were very skinny.I decided to try feeding them up over this time rather than subjecting them to any chemicals whilst they were in a weakened state.Once i was happy which was just yesterday i treated them with prazi to be absolutely sure they had no parasites.
I'm very happy with the outcome.

Thanks everyone for your comments as usual.

lovely pics richard. i love the pattern on the ray in the first photo and you can tell they have put on alot of weight

what sort of size are they ?

Nice job getting them up to scratch, how big are they? Must be around 5 inches at a guess.
