are hystrix rays easy to keep?
how big do they get?
do they have any similar, more colorful relitives?
would they work in the tank setup below

well you wont find true hystix and if you do you should expect to pay around $600 each for them. 730 gallons would be perfect for a motoro your plan for stocking wouldn't work though, plecos will suck on the rays disk, if it is true uaru it will be fine, if not they will pick at the rays eyes, T1KARMANN has pictures that show the difference between the two, and I don't think you want an arowana with 3 redtail barracuda. What is your plan for filtration?

the uaru is questionable as is the scarlet pleco.... not sure on the baracudas pbass can also be questionable but most people have had good luck... hystrix are impossible to get right now basically.... motoro ray would be your best bet..

retics not the hardiest of rays.... and probally nopt aggressive enough for your stocking

are there any big plecos that might do well with a ray?

..... plecos normally dont go well... the problem is that they have bad habits of sucking on the slime coating of rays... and normmaly kill the ray. in my experience i had my ray actually sting the pleco.... to this day i wish i got it on tape.....
