So on Sunday I went to go and collect the pair of hystrix.
I got them for £300 cash.

Brought them home, drip acclimatisted and put them into the tank
Left the lights off for about 3 hours.
Then after that put lights on half brightness (LED's)
And then after another 3 hours full brightness.

I was given a small amount of the glass shrimp the lfs was feeding them on and chucked a few into the tank on Sunday evening. Both Rays ate some
And then the rest of the shrimp went in last night and those got eaten too.

I have a tub of earthworms that arrived this morning.
So will be trying those tonight.
Hopefully they will take those.

Photos to follow

If they don't take earthworm mate then they are not rays mate lol
Only joking, they will take earthworm if they taking other food already. Earthworms are the cocaine of the ray world. Only a ray that is not right in someway will refuse them.
Best of luck but sire you won't need it. Enjoy your new pets and look forward to pics!

Jim,
In a way, I was very surprised how quickly they started feeding.
The Rays were a big step for me. Did a lot of reading, elsewhere and on MFK.
Some of the horror stories had me worried!

They're easy enough to keep if you follow a few simple rules of thumb, once they're acclimatised and feeding its generally plain sailing.

Clean water, plenty of regular water changes.
Plenty of oxygen in the water.
Enough floor space to keep them happy and away you go.

Well the Rays loved them!
Polished off the bunch of worms that went into the tank in a few minutes
And then again this morning.

Relieved that they are feeding.
Now want to try them on pieces of fish.
