I’m confused.

Hi, earlier I posted a thread asking if my platy was pregnant and recently I spotted a platy fry. It looks quite developed and I don’t know how this could be because the mother is in a mesh breeder and has been in it for a while. I moved the 1 fry to another breeder net. The mom still hasn’t had any other babies. Does anyone know how this could be?

I did some research and found out that the fry is actually very young. It still doesn’t make any sense.

It's a possibility that the fry released itself they don't come out at the same time always.

Is that the only female in your tank ?

Platies will keep popping them out every month or so

And if its just one random fry odds are the others have already been snaffled up by any other fish in the tank but you will be surprised usually when you see one, others will show up over the coming days

My Platties randomly pop out babies just one at a time. Waits a couple days, drops another.
