Here's my late Gold Nugget.
He died and i think it may have been due to several ounces of carp tackle lead i used to keep the plants in place.
Seemed like a good idea at the time, for i didn't know plecos get lead poisoning very easily. Provide driftwood, a place to hide (I prefer i cave more then the number of plecos) and a varied diet shoulf keep your fish happy.

I like gold nugget too.. they are def those stunning heart stopping fish...
I Had A Scarlet Pleco Which I Adorned... Most Beautiful Fish Ever. I Just Wish I Had Enough Money To Get Another. The Only Fish Which Stood Up To RBP(Rammed The **** Out Of Them), And Oscars Twice The Size Of Them. Ended Up Getting Killed By 35 mixed cichlids. .05"-1.5" while it was 7.5... Best Pleco Ever

and i know this may stir some people up but i cant stand the look of gold nugget plecos. stubby things.
but i lllllllooooooovvvveee the basic common pleco. as well as the other darker colored plecos.
My pleco Tim (named after Tim the enchanter from monty python) is a common plec and acts in all sorts of fun ways. he is king of his tank and puts my very very HYPER gara ruffa (named twitch) in his place.
