The fringing powerhead stop flushing oxygen bubbles. It was only providing curent. I came in to sse all my fish heavily gasping for air. The biggest blue gill had off white patches and some color left. The second largest had the same problem but with more color. Even my bullhead catfish was in distress!!
I immediately put my emperor 400 on and adjusted the whole powerhead to lean back. It started blowing oxygen bubbles. The fish recovered. I removed the Emperor 400 and put it on another tank. I had also moved 6 fish to another tank.
I came in this afternoon to check on all the tanks and the powerhead had done the same thing again!!! Fish had started breathing heavy. I put the new powerhead on and instant oxygen. Fish quickly recovered. I have to clean the canister filter tonight to put it back on the tank.
My Natives are especially dear to me. It took a long time to get them all and I even paid for one of them that a fisherman was going to eat. I have learned so much from them all and to loose them from lack of oxygen is worse!!
