Hey guys! awesome forum you guys got. Well I ended up picking up a 55G Cichlid tank was wondering if you could help me ID my fish. and also what lake there from.

The peach-colored fish in the 5th pic looks like a Red Zebra (Lake Malawi), and the multi-colored fish looks like a Rusty Cichlid, though I'm not sure of the rest. I also see Silver Dollars (the round silver ones in the last pic), but they probably shouldn't be in with Africans, as they're from South America and have different water and dietary requirements, hardy as they are.

pic number 3 looks to be a congo tetra. That 2nd one is neat. no idea what it is though.

2nd pic is Labeotropheus Trewavasae. Old school import from Malawi.

Yeh from doing some research I found similar pics of the Labeotropheus Trewavasae. His stubby snout is for eating food on the bottom of the tank which he loves because he takes his sweet time eating all the left overs from the feeding. Guess I won't need a catfish.

actually his snout is used for leverage. He uses it to pull the algae off the rocks. He uses the noise to help rip it off.
