i am going to overstock my 20g tropical tank

Most of the fish you listed would be eaten by the pictus, and pictus really like to live in schools. I would drop the pictus, lower your stock a little, and you should be fine.

i just want to think what people think about this idea, i have half the fish already in the twenty and i look at it and i have little doubt in my mind i could add some more and they would be just fine, i might not get the pictus, but i dont know it might stay like 3.5-4" inches in this tank with all the other fish if it even grows that big. i think it wont be able to eat the others unless its at least 4-5" and even then all it could eat are the danios which are pretty quick and cheap, they are pretty much feeders anyways.

the pictus would be the centerpiece lol

anyways i am going to get the rest tomorow and if i get the pictus it will need quarentine they always have ick at lfs for some reason, would it be cool to lose the pictus and get some ghost shrimp instead are they hard to keep?

we shall see how this experiment goes

if the lfs can have 50 danios in a tank why cant i have 15 and the rest of em
they arent exactly territorial and as long as the water parameters are good and nitrates are kept low i don't think the fish will mind being a little bit crowded

i have a ac50 for the main filter and i have a topfin 20 i'm going to fill up with matrix

A LFS can have a full grown oscar that gets traded in a 20g too. It does not mean the Oscar can stay healthy in that environment.

FYI you mentioned in another post your LFS pictus always have ich. Reason that a lot of fish from the lfs have ick and other diseases is because of the high stress in less than ideal environments. Using the fish fish store as justification of how you can overstock a tank is just silly.

Cant wait to see the responses to this after the crap I go about the 20g at work with a juve JD, juve bichir, and small Pleco.
