I live in Canada, and have never found a red tail giant gourami! So I saw the site aquabid that people surf on.. and I typed search for "Giant Gourami"!
I'm not sure how u guys feel about this.. but I'm quite disgusted... it must be in real pain for that lil juvenile!
And the worst part is.. the guy says "GOT MANY IN STOCK" right above the picture... dunno how many there are!
Not trying to flame the guy... but the fish must be hurting like crazi! :(

I have always wondered if tattooing like that truly harms the fish. It seems like it probably would, but I don't know how it's done so I guess its not fair to assume anything. Anybody know how they put ink on a fish like that or what the physical effects are??

There are several ways. The worst way, the way this fish was probably done, is by a needle with dye. Many of the fish injected do not live long afterwards.

Yeah, we have a store that gets ones with hearts and other shapes (go spurs) written on them.
Its horrible. I complained to the owner and have yet to go back to that store.
Shame cus they sold crawdads for a good price, and my puffers love 'em

It's really not that big of a deal any more. It happens. No matter how many petitions are signed, or complaints made, they'll be here for a while. There are tons of threads saying it is bad. Is it? Yes. Will it stop? No. There is no use saying anything about it. It is sad, but there is nothing we really can do.

We'll the fish probably isn't in any pain as the majority of fish are unable to feal pain thank fully think of how bad it would hurt to be a goldfish being shredded by a puffer or large cichlid

Still many ways of dyeing fish are very harmful to them and many parish
