i feed my wolffish frozen shiners. and i need more variety. people said that earthworms are ok.

is it ok if i get the earthworms from my backyard?

what are some other foods that would help with variety?

Depending on what fish you have; brine shrimp, tubefex, fruits and vegetables, squid, blood worms, scalps, crickets, fish fillet, beef heart, chicken, meal worms, and the list can go on for awhile.

Earthworms are fine if they have not been in contact with pesticides.

Backyard earthworms are greatas long as you don't use yard chemicals, I have a small corner that I mulch and water just to attract worms.
I you start getting Ewurms please use napaqlm before they breed heheh.

Howdy,

You can trick your wolf into a more nutritious diet: I press two Tetra TabiMin catfish tablets into each shrimp he eats. He doesn't even know what he swallows :D

I have also been looking for earthworms, but I have a hard time locating any ... and my backyard is solid ice. I wished I lived in Arkansas, with vending machines full of fishing baits (including live goldfish!!!) at WalMart. I checked http://www.wormman.com , but I don't really have any use for their smallest quantity of 5 lbs of worms ...

Howdy,

Okay, I tracked down a live bait shop in Kansas City. Got a dozen Canadian nightcrawlers. Starved my wolf for a few days. He's used to being fed daily, so this makes for a very hungry wolf. But he wouldn't touch the worm during the first few days. Finally he tried it last night, and spat it back out. I removed the worm and offered some of his old staple food, and he devoured it aggressively.

Obviously, he doesn't care for worms. That's the end of the worm experiment for me. I will stick to spiked shrimp ...
