Can anyone tell me where I might find a background picture for my 300g tall. Everywhere I go they only go 24" tall and I need 30".

Or should I go with a picture or paint the back of the tank black or blue?

If I were to choose, I would personally paint my back "black" as the paper thing might have some air/water trapped behind there and will make the back look crappy...like in my case.

you could get creative get some plant like sponges and sponge them on and paint blue over it or any thing you want sponge it on and then paint the tank blue and you will see your creation in front of the blue paint. just an idea for ya

My 225 had this black Tint like material stuck to it and black never really enhanced teh colors of the fish at all so i pulled it all of. Now im in the same boat as u looking for backgrounds. Personally i think im gonna go to walmart and find a good laminate/wrapping paper and give it a shot. If that doesnt work then ill just find something else to do. If u decide to do the Background in a paper like material make sure to tape the top of it all the way across to make sure water does not get down it and make it look funky.

I painted the back of my 72Lx30Wx24H acrylic, with Rustoleum Matte Black...

I wet sanded it with 1000grit 3M wet-or-dry sandpaper first, then used a roller to paint it with...
Dried to touch in a few hours and was cured in 48hrs...

To me Black makes the decor and fish PoP! and gives the illusion of a much wider tank...;) :D

I had the pronblem with lighting i guess. The fish would always be dark and never really have to much color. I pulled the back off and the fish seems to have a better Hue to them.

Move the light to the front of the tank top...;)

Are uggesting me to turn the lids around too so i can get into the side lids atleast? the middle would have the light cord across it.

I plan on getting a Arowana so i wanna keep the tank covered with something to hold the lids down plus the 2" gap in the back i also plan on getting a CSoverflow box so i guess that can go in the middle too since it wont be getting opened if the light in in front. I also plan on getting lights underneath and shining them up through the bottom with no gravel to add to the lighting (wont be yellow bulbs but more of some colors, Ill have to experiment with them).

I think a Blue background will look good and reflect light well.

The 30" size is going to be hard to find a "standard" background. I have used cloth from a fabric store that had a cool print on it and it looked really good. You buy it by the foot and it can get expensive for longer lengths but it does afford a lot of options.
