Ok i been going threw this phaze where i have been looking for the right fish, i just got some Dovii, and they both are realy big panzies the both of them do nothing but hide up behind the filter, i am just looking for an aggresive fish i want something that will try to attack me even when i walk by his tank......... or try to get me threw the tank....... something that will actually chase me hand...... something that will try and take me arm off when i stick it in the tank........ by the way this fish will be lonner, all by himself in a tank.......... anyone have any ideas?

almost any breeding cichlids

The thing is my flowerhorn use to do all of that, and was only 6 maybe 7 inches max, but i wanted something diffrent that would get bigger, i wish i would of never hot rid of the guy, i dont want to have to have a breeding pair in order to get all of that.......

well not even all red devils...etc do that it all has to do with personality

Red devils certianly fit the bill along with quite a few other fish I could mention although generally it's more of an individual thing than a species thing. I had a Black P. for slightly over 16 years and in spite of thier poor reputation he was something of a cowerdly lion....

The key to the sort of behavure your looking for is for the fish...no matter what species...to feel comfortable enough with it's environment to want to defend it. This is why you see this sort of behavure so much in breeding pairs.

Personally I'm niether intrested in....nor overly impressed by... the so called "Pshyco" fish and have, in fact, sold several of them that I've picked up along the way. NO matter how tough or nasty you think your fish is...rest assured that it's nothing more than another fish's dinner....

Just give your guys some time, and, by the sound of it, some cover. Let them call this tank home. Know the trick to making a parrot overly aggressive in a community tank? Give him somewhere to hide! hehehe Cover gives fish confidence as they have somewhere to run to if things get out of hand, make sense? Many also work on the premise of ambush which only works if they can remain hidden. Take that hiding spot away and they become kittens (ie. Parrot).
