Lovely fish, as they mature the scales get really shiney!
Are you planning on keeping all of them long term? I've heard they can be nasty with each other as they get older.
 
I was going to get a six incher a while back... Went home and did some reading and decided it would be the best thing for me :) L:ove the fish just don't have the space for even the next purchase that is coming :) let alone a tinfoil barb withan attitude and biitchen TEETH :D SHow us thoug :) I plan on owning some one day :)
 
just picked one up today, doin so so. looks bad tho, ive been thinking about them for a while and picked up the fattest healthiest one ive ever seen
 
Hi, the good news is that they are very hardy! A few years back, I cycled my tank with them and no deaths..

And also, I know the guy from the LFS and he is a friend, for a 4.5 inch, I paid $4.32 for one..That is why I got 17! :)

I've got an 8"er that I picked up about a year ago.


As he matured his scales turned red just like an asian aro.:headbang2
 
I have two of them, in separate tanks. The 2 wouldnt stay together in one tank. I like these guys, their scales get big and shiny when they get big. Unfortunately they come off real easily too if kept with more aggressive fish.
