I bought this fish and was told it was a baby spotted gar. Can anyone confirm

About 8 inches. This has very different care requirements from a spotted gar. Being a gourami, it not only likes, soft, acid, tannin-stained water, it needs it. It will also be very difficult to wean off live.

Ok for food it is eating feeder guppies and goat shrimp It is in a tank with 2 young oscar who do not show and intrest with it and some silver dollar fish
