So to make a long story short, my filter crashed on me a while back and since then my tanks have been extremely cloudy...parameters look good but so many particle fines that it looked like the tanks were cycling.

I made a very cheap DIY upgrade to my filters using the same concept as my last filter but incorporating filter socks at 400 microns.

After one day my tank so Crystal Clear very impressed!

Looks good.
You think 400 work put some 200 and 100 micron on there. Its amazing, problem is with the 100 I have to switch them out very other day. I recently started using filter mats instead. 3 layers one course, one fine and one super fine and am getting the same results without having to switch out the socks every other day.

On a side note, I want that little hybrid in there.

Very cool! Im actually trying 50 micron socks right now... Not rely much difference then the 100 mic

I use as low as 25 micron, they do some wonderful things for water clarity.

Just switched from AC110 sponge to 150 microns. I can actually c my fish now

I just started using 100 mic socks. Wow! What a difference!
