but...when it comes to little community fish i have no clue.LOL
what are the differences between cardinal and neon tetras apart from size and coloration?
will neons/cardinals breed easily?or do they require certain changes to induce breeding?
also, will the two species shoal together?or will they stick to their own species.
thanks!
michel

I can't keep neon alive much less breed. they just last a week or two in my community tank and slowly disappear. Never heard of anyone successfully breed them.

ive kept neons before, and introduced them to a few friend that didnt go monster.:grinno:
never had problems with keeping them alive.

I think the main difference in them is the red line. Neons it only goes halfway down the body and cardinals it goes the full way down the body. I could be wrong but thats the only difference I see.

yes i know that difference,as well is the larger size that cardinals get.

Neons are breed on fish farms in Florida in mass quantities. They are unable to do the same with their very close relative the Cardinal.

^Thus, the price difference.

And I believe, if you put them in a large enough tank, they'll school separate.
Put them in a small tank, they tend to mix.

Cardinals FTW..
