Some of the ray gurus here may remember me... 6' by 6' tank, 800 gallons, tons of rays... Ya, I wish I could have executed that one. Sadly I couldn't.

I have been reading some old threads, and found a few people who had some type of mini-marble or something in a 180. Can anyone explain this further, and tell me if there is some new species I missed for my future 180?

Not really a new species just what some believe may be a marble from a certain area that stays smaller. They have dots around the edge of the disk instead of dashes and seem to be sexually mature at or around 10".

All that being said I would not purchase marbles with the idea of having a 24" wide tank be their home for life. If they end up getting bigger your going to need to have a backup plan. I would say if you started with pups of what is believed to be midget marbles you have at least 2 years if not more in a 24" wide tank. With that water volume I think three rays would be pushing the limit and you would have to have a very tight cleaning/water change schedule

Hmmm... Something to think about. Any idea where any of these guys Could be purchased? Once I have fish big enough, the family is fine with an upgrade. They don't trust me to initially buy a huge tank though.
