After selling my tanks when moving and nearly selling this one I am back in the business. I have been in the hobby for 25 years and have never seen the combo I have had working now before. I bought a dovii pair from a guy (male 11 inches, female 8 inches) and wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes. He had them in a 180 with severums and angel fish. No nipped fins, and all fine. So in my 240 I have living peacefully the fish listed below. I know this can change in a hurry and I have two backup tanks running in case, but I am enjoying while it lasts.

11 inch dovii male
8 inch dovii female
7 inch severum
5 inch ebjd
14 inch jag
5 inch grammode (watching this one)
5 inch JD
2 cons
1 pleco
9 inch GT

Nice set up and as long as it's working !!!! The tank looks beautiful...

Yeah, I know that it can change quickly, but the fact that the dovii have lived their whole lives with severums and angelfish make me wonder. It def. shows that cichlids have their own individual personalities.

Def watch the Grammodes. Mine flipped personalities at about 8". Wish I still had him. Kids spilled a big jug of bubbles in my tank when I was out of town. Lots of casualties!

Have they mated yet?

No, I am watching for that. If that happens the female will be moved.

Too bad. If the grammode flips he'll get his own tank. I have always wanted one.
