I caved in and got a Bichir finally haha

Ok so i couldn't resist, I was at petsmart getting some cartridges for my filters and walked by the fish to see what they had like always and the little guy swam to the front of the tank and had that cute little grin they always do so I caved in and bought him, he is no bigger than by biggest emperor tetra, maybe 1.5 - 2". Anything I should know that's especially important? I know the basics and stuff, and he will be going to my 75 in due time. Any specialty food they like to eat?

I am guessing you got a baby senegal... They are awesome.

You can feed them a lot of different things. What kind of fish food do you have around? You could try shrimp pellets. They are usually very easy to find and your sens should readily accept them.

Yeah it's a baby Senegal,it's in my 20g High until I put it into my 55 with 5 emperor tetras, an ebjd and 2 red severums and 4 clown loaches until it gets big enough to be put into my 75

And im not sure what sens are like for hunting but i wouldnt expect the emperors to las t long with any other bichir.good luck.
