From once a week to 7 times a week. Before i changed 12g out of my 55g once a week. But i started getting lazy and only did 8g a week. So since i am soon to be getting datnoids, i need to vamp up my water quality (which is already very good).

So I changed 2g a day so 2X7=14g. And i think large water changes but immense amounts of stress on the fish from the splashing for at least an hour while changing the water. So i think this is better for the water quality and better for the fish for many reasons.

Sounds good, your remove 25% water of your water weekly.

So i keep up on the water changing making it much easier for the fish and me. It is much easier to lift a 2gallong bucket than a 4 gallon bucket 4.5feet high into a tank without spilling it all over the floor. Note i am only 5 foot 5 inches

Whatever makes your fish happy ! Just keep in mind though that 2g 7 times is not as effective as 12g one time (if your intent is removing nitrates, etc).

Edit - Just to clarify if your nitrates for example are always at 0 it is no difference. If you had nitrates when you did changes once a week 12g though you are going to have even more if you do 2g a day.
