I am pretty new to this site and joined to help myself get things right.....i have kept fish for many years.....had as many as 5 tanks at a time....I am finally kicking down to buy a larger tank: a 120. (its large for me!)

I have read many threads and builds...I was planning on using an xp-4 AND my 350Bio for filtration. i have some large Silver Dollars, a Blood Parrot 7" , a 10inch Silver Aro, and some cats.....Erupterus and a 6 inch 4 lined.....Plan on adding a Dat and possibly a Pike Cichlid down the road......

Do I need to drill this tank or can I run the two filters as i have always done. I am new to indoor cannister filtration.....used powerheads and a Supreme King for salt back in the day.....

Suggestions???????? The above load is doing very well in a 50 gallon 6 sided rectangle....( hate calling it a hex cause its 48 inches long) The Bio wheel is doing all the work....I do three water changes a week to keep Nitrates down but the tank is thriving now two years. Thanks!!!!

You would be better served to just run them as normal. Drilling the tank will not yield any advantages with your current filtration.

Thanks! I will put the $$ towards something else!

Yes an even larger tank.

120 for the fish you have described is nowhere near enough to hold them. The silver arowana alone will require something double that size.

I know. I started with a Jardini on this plan but he would not cooperate...LOL I have two very good LFS....my main one will take him when he hits about 18 or so inches. I just cannot put a longer tank in the spot. The tank will be more than enough without the ARo exceeding that size. Everyone else is nearly full size already and fine in the 50 gallon! When the time comes I will probably sell(its a gorgeous fish) him to a proper home and reinvest in something different. I really love Aros. My house is just not set up for a larger tank.
