So I saw these Kirin Parrot babies and just had to see what they are gonna grow up to look like. The one is very dark with burgundy and dark stripes in its body with real high long fins with a very strong parrot face. The second one is more flowerhorn looking w a cool eyespot on its tail the pics don't do their colors any justice at all. They are pretty tiny maybe an 1"

It was one of those inexperienced things that I thought I had stumbled on to something really cool. That's even what they where labeled as and looked nothing like the parrots in the tank next to them so I got them. They even cost more but they where still not expensive at all ohwell I will grow them and go from there

still very pretty...

I had some Kirin Parrots in the past, I'm going to look up one of my older threads that had them. It was when they where fairly new on the scene and Shark Aquarium had them for sale. As far as I know some of the best places to get them right now are PetzoneSD and Petlanddiscounts. I've seen them appearing with more frequency in the Petlands over here in the Bronx and I could't be happier. In my opinion they are one of the best looking hybrids out there. Be back in a minute to post some pics.

Found my old pics and thread on here. So here's my old Kirin's from Shark Aquarium from 2008.A dream tank for me right now would be 2 Kirin/Bonsai Cichlids, 2 Blood Parrots and a 4 pod of Mpimbwe Frontosa and a Red Texas if possible . I personally think the color contrast would make an awesome tank display. I know I'd be able to mix the Parrots, Fronts and Kirin(which I prefer the other name for them Bonsai) but don't know about the Red Texas and their aggression levels.

Yours is prettier than mine but I think it's the same thing as one of mine. Now as for the dark colored one I'm not so sure I saw some orange stripes appear this morning not so sure I'm happy about that. I will try to get more pics I just did a big w/c so everybody is hiding
