THANKS ALL.... that is what i thought but that one is darker, so wanted to see what the experts thought.
Often a darker one will be the alpha. Sometimes a fish will also be dark if it is stressed.
Usually you id frontosa by number of black stripes and whether or not the fish has a eyestripe or eye mask etc... Telling what individual variant the fish might be once you have figured out the general group is often harder and you usually have to go by what the seller told you. For example you can ID a frontosa as Tanzanian type by the eye mask and coloration but will be more difficult to say if its a tanzanian from mpimbwe or some other location.
