Its a retic

nearly certain retic. You are looking at about 3 years to reach maturity, with good clean water and quality food. Males top out at about 10 inches and females about 14. What size tank you have it in and is it male or female?

will take her? a few years to get 12" disk. my males about 6.5" disk and starting to unroll. and females 8" and ive owned them both less then a year and from about 3-4" disks. from what i understand most rays mature at 1+ yrs and slow down after the initial 2-3 yrs? but will continue to grow like most fish the rest their lives.

my rays also almost always have access to live blackworms and i also feed nightcrawlers to the tank and pellets ( never seen my retics eat them though)

I am still not sure on how to tell if it is a male or female. The tank is a 125g that is why I was trying to see how fast it will outgrow the tank so I can get a 180g.

I was caught off guard by how easy it was to get it to eat. The first day it was eating all different types of worms. I remember reading a lot of different sources that said that they are finicky eaters. How do you tell if they are male or female?

I kept 3 in a 125 for 2 years with 50% water changes twice a week. You can tell male from female by the claspers next to the sides of the rays tail they look like little tiny sticks when rays are pups. Males have them females don't as the ray gets bigger the claspers get bigger and start to unroll.
