Was in an LFS the other day and they had a species of Silver Dollar that I'd never seen before. It was labelled as 'Very rare!' and had a price tag to suit! $275 EACH if I remember correctly! In my experience fish like this don't pop up very often in Australia. Size wise, maybe the size of a slice of a medium sized orange, so probably juveniles. They had standard silver dollar shape, a red hook looking anal fin and a large square shaped black blotch on a large part of their flank. They were very pretty fish but unfortunately I didn't get a photo.

Any ideas?

I saw a vendor selling them here lately, but I can't remember who. Marketed as "blackberry" SDs I believe.

sounds like a blackberry sd. will try to post a picture of mine later to compare

Its a hybrid coming out of the east from one farm and one breeder from my understanding. Some of my research is saying a cross between Widebars and Redhooks but that is unverified. I paid $70 each for my trio back in the beginning of April.
All the info on them is said to be a closely kept secret.........And the release of them is controlled. Still to early to know if they are fertile
or not, at least to the public.
Only two vendors I know of that has sold them are Wes and m_class.
