these are about 4-5 inch,they do have an eyespot,a line going across them,and its hard to tell if the bands are blotchy or properly banded.thanks for looking.

what did you buy them as?
I don't think I have seen a picture of juvenile Marulioides before anyway so not sure how to tell if they are.
All I can say is congrats I would love to have a marulioides but whenever I ask to order them in I get the whole "Oh its not policy to order snakeheads" despite them being legal.

i bought them as marulia,but i originally asked the store if they could order marulioides in and they said they must be really rare as they havent herd of them,but in the u.k marulioides is more common and cheaper than the marulia which has got me thinking weather they have got mixed up! mate i think most pet stores need educating on snakeheads,every store i speak to talks to me like there the apocalypse of the world,i feel so awkward when pet stores ask me what fish i keep i sometimes lie to avoid debate on my own bloody pet!!
