with all the talk of texas cichlids . i am unsure now please id my 2 cichlids i believe they are true but who knows .... thanks

they recenlty just started getting dark . here is a pic where the one is light,and the other looks to be flashing. i bought them they were called blue texas..

Those are texas blues. Not a hybrid.
 
how can you tell? i have a very hard time with id cichlids.. i was a piranha guy lol i am now turning into a cichlid guy,and it is addictive..
 
looks like texas blues to me bud, but im no expert i used to be a piranha guy to, had black rhoms for around 8 years, then about 3 years ago i swiched to CA\SA cichlids and never looked back, i find cichlids have far more personality, still miss my rhom though.

lol my black rhom is a nut he trashes the pick up tubes for my filters.. he will break peices of swallow them and spit them out.. he is between 12-14" i am going to try and sell him so i can get more cichlids in the house .. it is hard thoughi really like him
 
those are Her. Cyna.... aka Regular Texas Cichlid. The first pics looks like female (LEFT) and female (RIGHT). However, I would assume the one the right is a male because they do change colors too. The second pic looks like female (LEFT) and male (RIGHT).
