Well i went to do a WC today and found some eggs underneath a lava rock its a cluster of white eggs. I at first really thought it was my hap 44's but then reading up on them the female keeps the eggs. So i need an i.d on this chiclid because i cant remember the name of it so i cant look it up to see how it breeds. Its the only other ones i can see breeding i guess its now just a process of elimination...while setting up my chiclid tank i tried to get pairs or trios of everything.

thanks for the help.

So i figured out the name finally and relized it breeds preety much the same as the hap...sooooo im taking it that the eggs were just laid then since they wernt in the females mouth, i wounder since i disturbed the rock if the male will fertilize it still and i wounder whos eggs they are.

Nimbochromis Venustus. Giraffe Cichlid. It's a cool fish and they get pretty big. The males have some awesome coloration when they grow out. I like the Nimbo Livingstonii as well, you should check those out, they have an interesting way of catching feeders. Good luck with it.

dido...what they said....nimbochromis venestus
hope its a male...they're gorgeous...but can be grumpy...

Nice little venustus you got there. Lots of blue coloration in him already.
