I.D. this cichlid

Marked as a Firemouth at PetSmart, but I don't think it is. Its about 2.5''

It's not a firemouth... That's for sure. At first glance taking the elongated body shape and lateral line into consideration I thought dovii? I'd guess female due to the lack of color? That's really just a shot in the dark... Definitely not a firemouth though.

I think it is a cross a firemouth with something else, it could also be a firemoth but the atmosphere and conditions it was put in, it changed..

Looks like a dovii juvenile, but they don't even carry those...

Reminds me of a Red Devil. Some do look that way as juvies. They definitely don't carry Dovii. Though, they do sometimes get random fish in their shipments. One by me got a Sunfish in once. But it's really hard to tell, it looks really stressed in that pictures.

i think it looks kinda like a midas/devil juvie, just one that hasnt been fed hormones to make it color up super early

A buddy of mine picked out a fish that looked exactly like that. It was in a Firemouth tank at Petsmart. It turned out to be a Midevil.

Salvini is my guess. looks like one I saw at a pet store today. poor coloring for one though. might brighten up with time though.

At first glanse i thought Dovii, but after stairing at it for a bit, especially the facial features, i too agree that it is more likely to be a Citrinellum/labiatus cross
