I bought this fish today at my LFS he was listed as a leopard something or other. The guy said he was brackish and mildly aggressive but didn't know too much about him. He was too intriguing to pass up so I grabbed him. Anyone know exactly what he is or have background info on him?
that is a lepord bushfish/climbing perch it is a fresh water antabaniod from west africa . it grows 8 inches long, i dont know about agresion levals of this fish so try googling it.
Yeah I know I was there to look at dats and scats. Then I saw this guy and couldn't pass him up. The Ctenopoma name is the one I believe was tacked after leopard, I just couldn't remember it.
Well apparently he's happy and has decided to be a schooling fish since he now schools with the archers and scats. A little strange after reading about their characteristics........
It's a Leopard Ctenopoma, again, correct can become 8".
Can be kept in brackish water from what I've read. They have a REALLY huge mouth, so as long as nothings in there that can be swallowed, it won't bother it.
