Yep, male's about 6.5", female 2 inches or so smaller. The female is just absolutely stunning, one of the prettiest fish I have ever kept. The amount of orange she has is something I have never seen in this species before. They are the Panama variant, which explains that, I think (not familiar with the different geographical morphs). She has her tube down as we speak and is trying her best to court the male. Fingers crossed for a spawn soon!

Why do they need to be old? Arent they real nice right now as they are even compared to older pairs? Or do they suppose to get uglier as thy get older?

No they aren't at that mature coloration quite yet so as they get older they will look nicer and could possibly be the nicest around. But IMO to be claimed the nicest they need to be adults as that's when there full coloration really shows.
