I do not feed my loaches two 5"ers and a 2" baby one. I have had them for about two months now they live in a heavily planted established 80 gallon tank. I drop hikari algea tabs about 2 or 3 times a week but that's about it same with my clown pleco, oto cats and red tailed black shark. I feed my tetras omega one flakes but any that hit the bottom my ghost shrimp get to very quickly I am going to put a tab in now and every day for now on but I don't see them eat it is it normal for them to not eat them or an I just not seeing it?

I have a black khuli loach currently. I have had him for a really long time (I swear around 15 years). During his time with me I got busy and he became the sole survivor in a low light planted tank. I neglected him and the tank for a few years (no food introduced for at least a year and no water changes) till one day I got around to finally cleaning the tank and was in the process of breaking it down. I was sure there would be no survivors in the tank, but lo and behold he was still in there alive and kicking and actually doing well. God only knows what he found to eat during that time, but when I found him he wasn't skinny at all. Now he is one of the fishes that I love the most for being such a survivor. He hapily swims all over his domain and interacts with his tankmates by bumping in to them when he goes crazy, swimming up and down the glass. He eats like a pig now more than ever.

Amazing the conditions some fish can survive in. I found a pleco hiding in an ornament in about 2inches of water in a day care center tank that had been badly neglected. No food, almost out of water for months. Rescued it, took it home and it became a 10 inch digging monster. Was about 3inches when I first found it.

This is one of those fish that 6 months down the line you forget you hAd them only to move and ornament and bAm there they are. Healthy and fat as ever. I don't see my kuhli school either unless i would around stuff and i feed a variety of things :)
