I don't know what it is about iceberg lettuce...

It turned my semi aggressive gold saum into a raging lunatic earlier.

While watching my tank my oscar decided (being he is the largest in this specific tank) he wanted to show that he was the alpha fish. Low and behold I put a piece of lettuce in the tank and the GS went insane. He got that frenzied look in his eyes all the color started showing then he started chasing around every other fish in the tank. My red devil, flowerhorn, severum and smaller oscar all went cowering at all corners.
The GS was perspectively put back in his place after a bit of coaxing from the larger oscar.
I'm guessing for those 30 minutes or so he thought he must have been popeye.

I've never seen a frenzied GS though. Interesting enough.

No actually he snapped after snacking on it.

if he likes it then go with romaine lettuce. more nutrients from what i here but the only thing that i have that will eat it is bristlenose plecos

If something was that good I wouldn't share it either! I'[ve never tried veggies besides blended in with chopped squid and cyclops...I wonder if my cichlids would be more open to it since they are older now...?

I tried putting some lettuce for my cichlids and they just looked at me I was crazy

lol i know what you mean Trikky. i tried a sheet of algae and some lettuce also one time and my africans were deathly afraid of both... they stayed on the other side of the tank lol
