On Monday I noticed my sump on my two tanks down stairs was to low for the pump to work. I unplugged the pump went up stairs to get the bucket and got side tracked. Well Tuesday night I went down stairs to put a load of cloths in, and I realized I never put the water in and failed to turn the pump back on.

The tank was 62 degrees, I instantly put water in cold water as I didn't want to shock the fish any more, and turned the pump back on. There where no dead fish last night, but ill have to keep checking on them today and tomorrow.

I can't wait until I get all the fish in once place, so I have less chance of a mistake like this.

Well I feel bad, but at least they are all alive so far.

Don't feel bad...Think of it as a lesson learned. It's not like you did it on purpose and I'm sure you'll probably never do it again.

good luck for you. you probably killed off your BB. watch the parameters for a while.

the bb should be safe it lives in the sump, where the heaters where, they never got turned off.

I hope everything's alright in a few days, and don't feel sad!

We have all done stupid things. And just when you are confident enough to think you know what you are doing, you'll do something to make this look like nothing. Good luck with your fish, I'm pulling for you.

dont worry i turned of the heater to make a water change so I wont get burnt by it and i when i was finished i forgot to turn it on and just left by the time i came back the tank was 68! we learn from our mistakes.

just be sure to keep checking yer levels... chances are yer good.. but if yer BB starved/died then you could have some ammonia issues
