When I meet my wife, I told her I was obsessed a bit with my fish, and want more. We had agreed a can get one more 200+ gallon tank, before we started having kids. Well God was not invited to that meet, and so he didn't know the agreement; and sent us our little girl Due April 15.

Well earlier I was all bumbed out because I realized my aro tank is not going to be in the cards for a while now. I feel like a complete bad dad that was just a selfish thought, and I should not even think of things like that.

On the other hand I can't wait to sit in our rocking chair and watch the fish with my baby girl. I have always wanted a girl, and was ready to have child when my first wife decided it was time to call it quits. So God has truelly blessed us with this gift.

I am sure I will have some awsome stories in the years to come about what she did; I remember on guy said his daughter took the fish out to clean it.

just put a little bit away each time you can towards the tank.. make some sacrafices that won't interfere with the budget.. congradulations on your baby girl

'Grats! You'll get through it man. I was out of the hobby for a while with studying abroad, starting work and then a family, but now that my daughter is a year old, I'm back! I now have four 70G growouts with a silver, jar and yellow tail (still deciding between a black, green and RTG for the fourth), and am planning a 380G show tank, plus a 50G coldwater set-up for my daughter. With a little patience, lots of planning, scrimping and saving, it'll all work out. Good luck!

Congrats. We all have those moments, they key is to move on past them and learn from them.

Congrats, I wanted to build a fountain pond last spring but losing my job and a daughter on the way stopped that(She was born April 24th). I'm working on a cheap kiddie pool pond in the meanwhile. She already eyes on my 55 in the kitchen... so I should have luck raising her on fish.

When I had my kids it gave me a reason to set up more tanks. Me and my 2 kids set up 29g tanks in their bedrooms, they got to pick decorations for them and pick out their fish and I occasionally use them as growout tanks for some of my monsters. Everyone wins they learn about fishkeeping and resposibility and I get to grow Aros, cichla, and cats

Congrats on the baby girl.. You'll get your other tank, it'll just take a little more time.:)
I went through the same thing but my wife told me i had to get rid of all the tanks and just keep one..:(
Well i guess she didn't mean sell them all including my largest tank(100gal) and buy a single 300 gal.. But i did..:headbang2

My daughter loves to help me in the fish room and go to fish stores with me. Once they get about 3 1/2 or 4 they can actually help with stuff.... and look and learn well before then.

She's the only female permitted in the man cave...
