I just reported a family member for animal neglect/abuse.:(

If anyone finds out it was me it will be hell to pay. I don't want these people to be mad at me, it would cause a HUGE rift in an already fragile relationship.

Their dobbie was so skinny, could see every rib, every backbone, both pelvic bones. There were big open sores on the dog, two inches around, bleeding. The dogs nipples were very swollen, like the size of grapes. I don't understand how they can walk by that dog every day, look at her, and not do anything! I reported this same person four years ago for breaking their Rottie's ribs, but nothing was done. That poor Rottie was pooping blood it was so beat up.

It makes me sick I'm related to someone that treats animals this way. The rest of the family just turns a blind eye, like it's normal!

I really hope something is done this time and their dogs are taken away!

you did the right thing..Animal neglect pisses me off soooo bad to the point I wanna kick the living crap out of them or put them in the same situation as they put there pets through....I totally respect what ya did and allot of people on here will agree

Props. Tough thing to do. You did the right thing.

Yup, did the right thing. Very responsible decision in a very delicate situation. P.S. we won't tell on ya:lipsseale  .haha;) Animals can sometimes defend them selves or run from crappy owners, but they can't serve themselves food and water when their stuck on a chain!:angryfire

you did the right thing...im sure the dog is very thankful!!!

Dude its called moral values. even though it could turn out really bad for you, you still had the integrity to do the right thing.

Props to you and people like you. wish there were more!!!

Family is first and for-most IMO. I hope you confronted the owners of the dogs first. If no change there, did you talk to the rest of your family before going to the authorities?

Umm, sure. They really cared a lot when one of their 3 dogs ripped my DH's leg open LAST YEAR! We didn't report that to the police because "we are family". We gave them a chance, they didn't even offer to pay medical bills. That dog is still there, and they have little kids running around.

We have asked before (like four years ago) to take one of their dogs (the Rottie) The response is "Why?" They call us oversensitive.

This has been going on for years, with at least three different dogs. They are not idiots, they are not blind, they can SEE this dog and how it's suffering. They don't care. :irked:

These people treat ALL animals like garbage, don't even get me started on their cat. I love my family, but I can't stand it anymore.
