Around 10pm I forgot to turn my sump on after changing a filter sock. At 530 I woke up and remembered and quickly turned it on. The water was a little cloudy, but the temp stayed at about 83. Fish were fine. About 730, water wasn't cloudy anymore. Think everything is okay, or could I have possibly killed my BB?

Test.....

thats the only way to know
my guess? Bound to have an ammonia/nitrite mini spike

Do you have a wet/dry trickle filter where the biomedia was dry for hours? You'll have to monitor your water parameters and do appropriate water changes if your tank goes into a mini cycle. You may also be okay. I came home and found that our sump pump had died. Don't know how long the bioballs were sitting dry, but we did an immediate large water change and managed to avoid a mini cycle.

You'll be fine. They stay alive for many hours as long as they're wet. Don't worry about it. I've had mine stay off a whole weekend.

I think that statement is probably a little overzealous....The answer to this question could depend on a ton of variables including media type, sump design, and a host of others... Nothing to do but test.
