I was on my way to get food for the evening.. My LFS also happens to be in the same shopping center.. So i decided to take a quick look and see what new fish they have in the store.. And then.. I saw a weird fish in the arowana tank... I asked the owner if that fish was what i thought it would be... he confirmed that i was correct..
ITs a Blood Parrot flowerhorn hybrid!!!
The body is def a blood parrot, with its small mouth and the round size.. but the color sports on the fish is clearly a flowerhorn.. I never knew it would be possible for a flowerhorn and blood parrot to mate.. but here it is...
I really wanted to buy the fish too.. problem was that the LFS owner was selling it for 25 bucks. AND it had the same aggressiveness like a flowerhorn.. i watched it for several minutes and found it picking on the young arowanas..
I also didnt have a big enough tank to house another since i already have 7 young flowerhorns.. and they all cost $2 bucks each.. so ya.. but at least i got a pic to prove it...
