That'd be my guess, Tilapia zilli, aka red-belly Tilapia:

BTW, it would be next to impossible to hybridize between New World and Old World cichlids given millions of years of evolutionary separation.

looks like tilapia zilli.
i had them for years in my tank.
i can catch them in ponds near by, and pretty much anywhere in israel somtimes in
brackish and rarly in sea water ponds.

the nature specimen have brighter colors on his fin's and a red belly.
its because their diet consist mostly vegetarian substance.
