or theres the possibility of getting rid of the bichirs, which ever you like more keep. I've never seen much personality in bichirs, but then again, I have never owned one.
Yeah,they teng to be this way.But some have sucess keeping them with other fish,yet i have not.Specimen specific i would say.
Looks like you were unlucky and picked a mean one.
What I have done in the past, and I know it was purely luck, was to add a larger cichlid which calmed down my FH without being mean to anyone... just claimed the tank and saved my eels. This was a trial run with a hunch I had about fish behavior. And the larger fish was an oscar... Bob was a good fish... RIP

FH are nasty little boogers that will attack anything in the tank. I've yet to see a passive FH. All FH I've had or seen are psycho.
My advice is to separate the fish ASAP before you loose the bichir.
My advice is to separate the fish ASAP before you loose the bichir.ummm you guys might think this cruel and weird but its not ...my dad had trouble w/ fish fish he had a fish stick hed chase the trouble maker around with didnt touch the fish but if the fish started to pick on another hed chase it ..a taste of his own medicine if you will
