I got a leichardti for $99.99!!

Well, I posted the other day about buying this leichardti at my LFS for 149.99, I thought it was a good deal even though he had some gill curl issues. I went to look at him again today, I mentioned to the owner that I liked the fish, but I was worried about the gill curl. The owner asked me what he had the fish priced at....I replied "149.99". He says, "Well I really want a better home for him (he was in a 30 gal with a big castle and all sorts of ornaments, so it probably had 15gal of H2O), so I'll knock $50 more off." SOLD. SO now I have a little 5" leichardti at my house. He's kinda skittish so far, but I'll get a picture for you all. I'm gonna be vigilant about my water changes and hopefully that gill curl will fix itself.

The little guy is very quick and doesn't stay still for long, so the pics aren't my best work ever. You can see the gill curl if you look close. I'm gonna try to keep the water pristine, and hope it goes away.

Day two: much more calm and swimming freely all over the tank. he ate some krill today, so i guess he's adjusting ok. What do you all think about the gill curl? at his size will he grow out of it?

Nice! Keep that water clean! If you can I would move him into a bb q-tank by himself untill hes all healed up. If not keep up those waterchanges! Good luck
