I'm very excited that I finally found a mudskipper. Hes good size too, probably almost 6inchs long. I had done quite a bit of reading on mudskippers a few years ago, but now i need to take a refresher course.
I think I'm remembering from my reading that some species are more brackish oriented, some are more fresh oriented, but the best thing to do was vary between fresh and brackish, especially since getting a species ID is hard.
for any keepers, do u tank your keep at a consistent salinity, or do you vary it, and between what levels are you varying or keeping.
Im also wondering what air temps and water temps you maintain,
Hes currently in a bare bottom tank with ledges and rocks to climb up on, and an air bubbler. Im pretty sure I'm gonna put him on sand, sloped up to a land area, i just need to wash a bucket of stand, dig out one of my fish tank stands, and pick a filter to use. Hes also got a screen lid at the moment, im pretty sure I have a extra fish tank lid, just gotta find it, Hes in the room with my reptiles with about an 78-80* air temp, and decent humidity.
and feeding is no prob being i keep many lizards/frogs
Ill have better pics once he comes up on land
