So I just sold my 7" weeksii to a fellow MFKer, i scooped the weeksii and took him out of the water and into the bucket. While in the net he jumped out onto the floor. I tried to pick him up with my hands and he slipped. Picked him up again and he slipped again, this time latching onto my middle finger and one of his dorsal spines jabbed another finger of mine, so i had about 3 cuts from him. What a shock!

I didnt expect this to come from a bichir, he most likely bit out of stress/scaredness, but boy do they have some teeth! Not huge teeth, but enough teeth to grip onto a hand! I feel more respect for all poly's now:headbang2

It was bleeding a bit more, this is afterwards, when I put soap and cleaned it up.

Ouch.
That looks like a pretty nasty little cut for a poly.
I never expected a poly to do something like that.

Yeah Poly bites aren't pleasent. :grinno: My big Ropefish is the only one of my fish that comes up to the top when I put my fingers in the tank and lets me pet her. I tried picking her up out of the water and she bit me little pinky finger... It didn't bleed or anything but they can bite hard! I'm pretty sure my Delhezi is the only one of my Poly's that hasn't bit me yet...

ouch! i no a fiend who got bite but never drawn blood

Was the the bloody finger from the actual bite or the spine jab? I got a 1/2 inch cut once from trying to snatch an endli barehand in the water. Are you sure you want a Jardini? I heard their bite is worse.
