I got eggs!!!!!

my female con has been inside a conk shell for 3 days now and i finally saw the eggs there are a lot of them and they are a beige color, so i am guessing they are fertile. the dad is a firemouth. They are in a 20 long both are almost 3", or right at 3". Ther had been a lot of nipping and flaring the past 2 weeks but they never swam together really. so i hope to get some hybrids soon. ill post pics later and keep everyone updated. Ive never bred anyfish before besides swords, so im pretty excited, ive got fry food and flakes so i think im good. Thanks.....Drew

Congratz! I was excited the first time my convicts bred. Of course, they didn't behave quite like they were supposed to. The male was a wuss and the female always chased him away after he fertilized the eggs. I was freaking out! I had never heard of females chasing the males away! Everywhere I looked, people were saying, "watch out for your female. The male might beat her up." Yeah right.
Never a dull moment with my fish.

ya he chases her is she gets out of the shell she seems kinda scared but will stand up for eggs. im so surprised they bred at sucha young age especially the FM.

well i got home today and about half the eggs are gone but she dug a massive pit in front of the shell. ill post pics and keep u all updated.
