I would appreciate a little help with an ID...

I want to plan out my tanks now to be a final upgrade...

Would like to know a little more info other then maybe 6-9"...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Nice little female Crenicichla sp. 'belly crawler'

Very cool pikes. They get around 8 to 10" when mature, and basically what you see is what you get. Since you got a female she will get some orange/red on her side, and some in the dorsal as well.

Pretty much one of the easiest of the Crenicichla to keep. Not very demanding, quick to be trained onto prepared foods, and pretty interactive.

Thank you.... being new to crenicichla's i assumed that belly crawlers were just another name given to this species of fish...

Yep a belly crawler not really just anouther name it comes from there Scientific name
